Florida State Star Changes Apple Watch Band Based on Opponent's Team Color

The Florida State star wide receiver gets creative with his Apple Watch on game days.

As No. 4 Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman continues to have big games each week with plenty of memorable plays, he continues to drive up his draft stock and attention across the college football landscape.

Before the Seminoles prepare to face off against the No. 16 Duke Blue Devils this weekend, Coleman joined All Things Covered

On the show, Coleman was asked about the why behind wearing an Apple Watch in the game, where he then flashed his wrist with a blue band and Apple Watch on.

"See the Blue for Duke?" Coleman asked. "I just match the team that we play. ...And the mouthpiece to match it."

Bryant McFadden, the former FSU and NFL star, asked why he matches the color.

"I probably haven't taken this Apple Watch off since this spring when I was at Michigan State," Coleman answered. "So, I just continue to wear it. It started off with [a black watch band], but now people that have watch bands, they support and just send me whatever colors I need."

Whatever Coleman is doing each and every game, he should continue to do it, as he's been a force to be reckoned with on a weekly basis. He is first on the team in receiving yards while also leading the team in touchdowns with seven. His 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame combined with elite athleticism causes for weekly mismatches against defenses.

Now, the Seminoles' star wide receiver is just having fun with his Apple Watch bands each week.

"Every single team. Gold for Wake Forest, purple for North Alabama, I've got orange, I've got blue. I've got orange and blue for Florida. I've got green for Miami. I've got all of them," Coleman explained.

After an incredible performance in taking down No. 5 ranked LSU to open the season, opposing fans were outraged about Coleman wearing the smartwatch in the game, as they considered it cheating.

"It's something that I like, and it's not really trolling, but you know after the LSU game they were trying to call us out for cheating. I just took it a step higher, you know. A little bit of trolling, but not too much," Coleman said.

Coleman said he's wearing the blue watch band at every practice "until the game" as the Seminoles prepare for a sold-out stadium against Duke at home.
