Kickoff is closing in for Florida State's first home game of the 2023 season as the Seminoles undergo final preparations for the opener in Tallahassee against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.

FSU is coming off a dominating performance after defeating the LSU Tigers in the first top-10 victory for the program in seven years. That has the Seminoles riding a seven-game overall winning streak dating back to last season and a No. 4 ranking in the AP Top-25 Poll into a matchup with the Golden Eagles.

Ahead of the contest, the Seminoles are relatively healthy after a physical game against the Tigers in Orlando. Head coach Mike Norvell previously announced that redshirt junior wide receiver Ja'Khi Douglas would miss a couple of weeks to start the season. Other than that, he hasn't provided any specifics on any other serious injuries across the roster.

With that being said, NoleGameday will be keeping our eyes on a couple of players leading up to kickoff. Offensive tackle Robert Scott and offensive guard D'Mitri Emmanuel appeared to be limited at times against LSU while defensive tackle Fabien Lovett has continued to work his way back into the lineup.

Offensive lineman Thomas Shrader, tight end Jackson West, and wide receiver Joshua Burrell missed most of the 2022 season. Defensive end Aaron Hester was out for the spring and wasn't spotted in Orlando while fellow defensive lineman Darrell Jackson is unable to play after having his waiver appeal denied by the NCAA.

Follow along below for updates before the Seminoles kick off against the Golden Eagles.

— Starting center Maurice Smith does not take the field with the remainder of his position group. Darius Washington, Casey Roddick, D'Mitri Emmanuel, and walk-on David Stickle look to be taking snaps in pregame. Smith has a boot on his right leg and is observing from the sideline.

— Redshirt junior Kentron Poitier is not warming up with his position group during pregame. He's in street clothes on the sideline but doesn't appear to be wearing any type of braces.

— As expected, Ja'Khi Douglas is not available. He's in street clothes on the sideline with a sling on his right shoulder.

— Fabien Lovett is warming up with the defensive line and looks ready to go for the home opener.

— Robert Scott is not spotted with the offensive line or on the sidelines with about 40 minutes until Florida State kicks off against Southern Miss.

— Darrell Jackson is in street clothes watching the rest of the defensive line warm up.

— Aaron Hester and Lamont Green Jr. are among some of the players not dressed out on the sideline.
