Florida State's Exciting Win Against Duke Ranks As One Of Most Watched Games In Week 8
The Seminoles stepped up in the second half on Saturday night to keep the third-longest winning streak in the country alive. Florida State trailed 10-0 and 17-7 but once again showed plenty of guts and resiliency to knock off a tough Duke team in Tallahassee.

Plenty of eyes were on the program during the primetime game on ABC with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit on the call. According to Sports Media Watch, the contest ranked third in the country with 4.2 million viewers and a 2.2 rating. Only Penn State-Ohio State (9.96 million viewers) and Tennessee-Alabama (8.01 million viewers) brought in larger audiences.
The Seminoles edged out Michigan-Michigan State (3.73 million viewers) and Utah-USC (3.23 million viewers) during the evening window of college football this past week. Florida State was part of the highest-viewed ACC game and most viewed game on ABC of the weekend. The contest was the sixth time in seven games that the program has appeared on the network.
The game between Miami and Clemson didn't make the ratings since it was shown on the ACC network. That means the next closest contest to Florida State in viewership was Virginia-North Carolina with a mere 788K eyes. As far as other teams in the state, UCF-Oklahoma ranked inside the top 10 of most-watched games with 2.17 million viewers.
Florida State averaged 9.1 million viewers in the season-opening victory against LSU. The win over Boston College brought in an average of 3.48 million viewers. That number grew to 6.71 million after beating Clemson in Death Valley. The program garnered 3.02 million following staying undefeated against Virginia Tech. The viewers dropped to 2.09 million during the squeezing of the Syracuse Orange.
The Seminoles will be back on ABC to take on Wake Forest on the road at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28.
