Florida State's Victory Against Boston College Was One Of Most Watched Games In Week 3

The Seminoles drew one of the largest audiences in the country for their win over the Eagles.

It was anything but pretty as Florida State survived a furious comeback effort from Boston College to pull out a 31-29 victory over the weekend. The Seminoles went up by three touchdowns in the third quarter but the wheels began to fall off quickly after two quick turnovers by Trey Benson and Lawrance Toafili followed by multiple defensive breakdowns.

The surprisingly close game and interesting action down the stretch led to the Seminoles drawing one of the largest audiences in Week 3. According to Sports Media Watch, Florida State and Boston College brought in an average of 3.48 million viewers and a 1.9 rating. That ranked fifth in the country behind Colorado-Colorado State (9.30 million), Georgia-South Carolina (5.42 million), Florida-Tennessee (5.31 million), and Alabama-USF (4.84 million). It was the most-watched contest during the noon window.

When you're one of the top teams in the country, people are going to tune in no matter the opponent to root you on or hope you fail. FSU averaged 9.5 million viewers in its season-opener victory against LSU with the game peaking at an audience of over ten million.

Florida State more than likely will draw another large crowd this weekend when the program travels to Clemson. The No. 4 Seminoles are looking to snap a seven-game losing streak to the Tigers while taking over the ACC in the process. The game is scheduled to kick off at noon and will be televised on ABC.
