FSU Receiver Destyn Hill 'Going to be a Problem' This Season

After a few years, Destyn Hill is finally on campus and ready to make a significant impact with the Seminoles.

Destyn Hill has a chance to be a big-impact player as a true freshman this season for Florida State. He was the Seminoles' top-rated recruit in the 2021 class, and after finally finding his way to campus over the summer, there are less than two weeks remaining until Hill makes his college football debut.

Florida State is brewing a huge season. Jordan Travis and Jared Verse returned after they both could have made their way to the pros last season. A blend of talented returners and transfers are going to make up one of the most talented teams in college football this season.

Hill has earned plenty of praise from the coaching staff throughout camp, drawing rave reviews from wide receivers coach Ron Dugans and offensive coordinator Alex Atkins after the second scrimmage.

"The kid loves to work. He doesn't shy away from it. He's been on for a while, you know, starting with the summer with skills and drills," Dugans said. "Now a couple of times he is getting his butt kicked a little bit, but he's someone that you know, when he really gets it, the fundamentals and the technique down, he is going to be a problem."

After delaying his FSU debut for years over a personal matter, Hill joins the team at the right time. The Seminoles are expected to be incredible, landing as a top-ten team in the preseason AP poll. The wide receiver corps is also stacked. He gets to learn from great receivers like Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman.

Offensive coordinator Alex Atkins praised his mindset and drive.

"He has the desire; you don't have to motivate or inspire him... I really want to praise his mindset," Atkins said.

If Hill is able to be a sponge and really take away as much as he can alongside elite talents this season, he will continue to be a threat for the Seminoles long-term.
