Jared Verse 'Would Have Been a Top-10 Pick' Last Year According To Draft Analyst
Florida State star Jared Verse is coming off an incredible, breakout season. He transferred from FCS Albany and absolutely killed it in his first season with the Seminoles.
In his first year with the program, Verse totaled 48 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one fumble recovery, and one blocked field goal in 12 games played.
PFF's lead NFL Draft analyst Trevor Sikkema and Connor Rodgers of NFLStockExchange broke down Verse's game and broke down how shocked they were that he returned to college football over making the leap to the NFL.

"He didn't get bad feedback, he just went back to school," Connor Rodgers said on the show. "He's a phenomenal football player and it's scary he's only getting better."
Sikkema continued on the topic, further complementing Verse's game and demonstrating why he could have been a high draft pick last year.
"He absolutely dominated. His tape is so much fun," Sikkema said. "He was one of my favorite draft prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he's going to be one of my favorite prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. He would've been a top ten pick last year."
Verse is returning to a Florida State team that has the potential to make some real noise. The Seminoles have been consistently picked as a top-10 team in preseason polls, and Verse is a big reason for that hype.
The Seminoles' defense is expected to be among the tops in the country in 2023, and Verse is the best player on that side of the ball. His quarterback pressure and stopping the run game will be huge for the team and will make life easier for the rest of the defense.
Verse already would have been a high draft pick, but after another huge potential season with the Seminoles, he could bolster his draft stock even more and find himself inside the top five in April.
