FSU Star Quarterback Jordan Travis Compares Himself to Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Hurts
Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis has the potential to do something special this season. With a deep level of talent and weapons on the squad, Travis will be able to help the team compete at a high level while making a run for the Heisman Trophy.
What helps Travis build his case to win an award like the Heisman is his play style. He's a dual-threat quarterback that flat-out makes plays.
Travis took to the radio to preview his season and make a comparison for his playstyle when he joined Sirius XM ACC Radio.

“I would say Jalen Hurts,” Travis said on the show. “I feel like his playing style, I mean, obviously, it’s different for sure. But I feel like he’s just an athlete. He makes plays with his feet when he has to and he makes all the throws he needs to.”
Hurts found his footing at the pro level last season. Not only did he lead his team to the Super Bowl, he did so in a fascinating style. He threw for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns while throwing just six interceptions. On top of the impressive pass game, Hurts also added 760 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.
Travis is also a player that makes plays both in the air and on the ground, as he mentioned, so they share similar archetypes as players.
Similar to Hurts' NFL season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis threw for 3,214 yards and 24 passing touchdowns with only five interceptions while adding 417 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
The sixth-year senior is looking to build on his breakout campaign from a season ago. Travis has gradually continued to improve throughout his college career. He's ready to take things to new heights yet again in 2023.
