FSU Football's Keon Coleman Says There Is No NFL Receiver He Compares To

Coleman's skillset and size make it hard to compare him to anyone currently in the league.

Former Florida State Seminoles' wide receiver Keon Coleman believes there isn't one NFL receiver that compares to him.

Coleman spoke with the media at the NFL Combine about his team meetings with the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and Carolina Panthers, among other topics.

One audience member asked him which current NFL receiver he compares himself the most to. Coleman's answer? Nobody.

“I wouldn’t compare myself typically to anybody, because I feel at my size and weight, I have a lot of hip flexibility and can move a good bit,” Coleman said. "So I don’t really think there’s just one guy that I could compare myself to.”

At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Coleman dominated as an outside receiver at Florida State. His combination of speed, strength, and excellent ball skills make him one of the best receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft. Another media member pointed out that Coleman had an exceptionally low drop rate (just 3.8%) with the Noles and asked him what it took to become that good at bringing in catches.

“Consistency and jugs, catching,” Coleman said. “I like live catching, I don’t really like jugs. I want the quarterback out there. Whether it’s the first, second, third, fourth, fifth or walk-on, it doesn’t matter who’s throwing it, I just need live catching.”

If Coleman doesn't compare himself to current NFL receivers, what differentiates him from other wide receivers at the Combine?

“My football IQ, my will to work hard, my confidence, the work that I’ve put in, and the ability to make the plays that I make,” Coleman told a reporter. “When I get into that right system that allows me to really just go all out and do everything as a receiver, I mean, we’re gonna see.”
