FSU Football Punter Alex Mastromanno Set to Return for Redshirt Senior Season
Ray Guy Award Finalist Alex Mastromanno has been a staple of the Florida State special team's unit during his four-year career as a Seminole. The Melbourne, Victoria native averaged 45.3 yards per punt in 2023 with a 44 long while pinning opponents inside the 20 twice. Originally a rugby kicker, he joined head coach Mike Norvell and staff in 2020 and has been a staple under special team's coach John Papuchis' unit.

Mastromanno announced that he would be returning to Tallahassee, FL, for another year on Monday, through an announcement with The Battle's End.
"Alex is a weapon," head coach Mike Norvell said early on in Mastromanno's career. "I hope we don’t have to use him a whole lot, but we definitely love having him."
Per PFF.com, his highest-graded season was in 2023, with an overall grade of 79.0, but he has maintained a plus 70 grade his entire career aside from the 2021 season, where he graded out at 66.8.
The CBS Sports Second-Team All-American ranks fourth in FSU single-season history with a 45.3 average.

Outside of Mastromanno, running back Lawrance Toafili, running back Caziah Holmes, wide receiver Darion Williamson, wide receiver Destyn Hill, offensive lineman Robert Scott, offensive lineman Darius Washington, offensive lineman Maurice Smith, offensive lineman Keiondre Jones, offensive lineman Jeremiah Byers, defensive end Patrick Payton, defensive end Byron Turner Jr, safety Shyheim Brown, and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald have all announced they'll return to Florida State since December.
