FSU Football’s Jared Verse and Johnny Wilson Headline Preseason All-American Projections

The Seminoles had a solid showing on Phil Steele’s preseason All-American and All-ACC team projections.

Phil Steele released his college football preseason projections, and Florida State Football had a good showing in the preseason All-ACC projections as well as two players projected to be All-Americans.

First off, headlining the All-American projections were Jared Verse (DE), projected to find his way onto the First Team, and Johnny Wilson (WR), who is projected to make the Third Team.

Verse is an incredible defensive lineman for the Seminoles. He was projected to be selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft before ultimately deciding to stay in Tallahassee with hopes to continue sharpening his game and preparing for the NFL.

After two seasons and seven total games at Arizona State, Wilson transferred to Florida State, where he had a breakout year. He picked up 897 receiving yards and five touchdowns last season and will be able to bump those numbers up while leading a solid receiving room during the 2023 season.

Along with All-American projections, Steele released his All-ACC projections, which included 12 different Seminoles.

Of course, both Verse and Wilson, projected All-Americans, were projected to land on the All-ACC First Team. They were joined by running back Trey Benson. All three players had breakout seasons last year after transferring to Florida State from their respective schools.

The Seminoles' starting quarterback, Jordan Travis, was projected to make the All-ACC Second team alongside three of his teammates. Travis is headed into his final season with Florida State before he runs out of eligibility and joins the 2024 NFL Draft. He's progressed every season under Mike Norvell's coaching, and he will be at the center of the Seminoles' potential meeting of expectations.
