Florida State running back Trey Benson has had a productive career during his two years in Tallahassee. After amassing 2,288 career all-purpose yards and 23 touchdowns, he now finds himself at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, heading his way into the pros

With NFL teams scouring for their next bruiser at running back, multiple franchises are looking into the former All-ACC player, including the Dallas Cowboys.

“I feel like the Cowboys have the same scheme as Florida State, so I think that would be a good fit for me," Benson said to the media during his combine interview.

Benson is a big back at with surprising agility and speed with the possibility of hitting a home run at any given moment at the college level. It could translate well into what the Cowboys need on offense. However, Dallas will be looking to shore up the lines first and will likely be taking an offensive tackle with their first pick. So, that would project Benson into the later rounds if he does end up in Texas.

The Cowboys currently have selections at No. 26, No. 56, and No. 87 before trades and will be looking to fill a hole as Tony Pollard and Rico Dowdle are expected to enter free agency this upcoming season.

Rookie running back Deuce Vaughn landed in Dallas last season, but the Kansas State standout saw little playing time and wasn't very effective on the field when he did.

Benson is set to compete at the NFL Combine which airs on Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m. ET.
