Florida State put the entire country on notice on Sunday night after splattering LSU like a bug against a windshield. The Seminoles caught fire in the second half, smoking the Tigers to the tune of a 45-24 effort. There aren't many games between top-10 teams that end with nearly a full quarter of garbage time.

The 'Noles scored on five of their six drives in the second half, led by a strong effort from star quarterback Jordan Travis on the national stage. The only possession in the final two quarters that didn't produce points for the offense was when they kneeled out the clock to conclude the victory.

Coming off a breakout 2022 campaign, Travis showed that he's coming for even more during his final season at Florida State. He bounced back after turning the ball over in the second quarter, completing 23/31 passes for 342 yards with four touchdowns to one interception while also rushing for a score on the ground.

At one point between the second and fourth quarter, Travis completed 11 consecutive passes. He finished the second half 10/11 for 185 yards and two touchdown passes. With five total touchdpwns, Travis passed Jameis Winston and moved into a tie for second in program history in total touchdowns (75) with Chris Rix. He only needs six more to tie Chris Weinke for the record.

The performance against the Tigers has Travis earning plenty of attention early in the year. According to Caesars Sportsbook, Travis has some of the top odds (+600) in the country to win the Heisman Trophy ahead of Week 2. He only trails USC's Caleb Williams (+400) on the list, who came away with the award last year.

Outside of Travis and Williams, Washington's Michael Penix Jr. (+900), Colorado's Travis Hunter (+1600), Michigan's J.J. McCarthy (+1600), Oregon's Bo Nix (+1800), Texas' Quinn Ewers (+2000), Alabama's Jalen Milroe (+2000), Colorado's Shedeur Sanders (+2300), and Tennessee's Joe Milton (+2800) are some of the early contenders for the Heisman.

Earlier this year, Florida State launched a campaign to bring attention to Jordan Travis' Heisman run at JTravForHeisman.com.

Travis will look to continue his strong performance between the lines when the Seminoles return to action against Southern Miss on Saturday night in their home opener.
