Kickoff Time, TV Information To Be Decided For Florida State's Road Game Against Wake Forest

The Seminoles will conclude October with their first road game in five weeks.

Florida State handled business during the first half of the season and now finds itself 6-0 and tied for the top spot in the ACC. Duke is up next on the docket as the Seminoles prepare to face off with a top-25 team for the second time in 2023.

Following the matchup against the Blue Devils, FSU is set to match up with Wake Forest in what will be the program's first road trip since late September. On Monday, the ACC announced game times and television information for contests that'll take place during the weekend of Saturday, October 28. According to the Atlantic Coast Conference, the game between the Seminoles and the Demon Deacons was one of five to be flexed for this upcoming week.

That means Florida State and Wake Forest won't know the exact kickoff time or TV information until the conclusion of games on Saturday. North Carolina-Georgia Tech, Duke-Louisville, Virginia-Miami, and Clemson-NC State all received the same treatment.

Wake Forest has been a consistent pain in Florida State's side as of late. The Seminoles hold a 30-9-1 advantage in the series but the Demon Deacons have won the last three meetings dating back to 2019. That includes a couple of head-scratching losses under head coach Mike Norvell over the last two seasons.

In 2022, FSU brought an undefeated record into a home matchup against Wake Forest. The Seminoles ended up trailing 28-7 prior to a couple of late touchdowns to make the score closer than it really felt between the lines.

In what is probably a sigh of relief for fans wearing garnet & gold, the Demon Deacons lost star quarterback Sam Hartman to the transfer portal this offseason. Head coach Dave Clawson has turned to redshirt sophomore Mitch Griffis to run the offense and the results have been mixed. Griffis has completed 100/169 passes for 1,211 yards with nine touchdowns to six interceptions. Two of those turnovers came in a surprising home loss to Georgia Tech as Griffis has been picked off five times in the last four games.

Wake Forest is scheduled to Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be televised on the ACC Network.
