LSU Football Player Takes Shot at Jordan Travis, FSU Football

Travis and the Seminoles fired back at criticism from a player on a team they've dominated over the last two years.

There has been plenty of anger and vitriol building in Tallahassee over the last month in the aftermath of Florida State's historic snub from the College Football Playoff. The decision from 13 has-beens in a conference room decided that an undefeated team with a plethora of players who will play in the NFL wasn't worthy of competing for a National Title after star quarterback Jordan Travis was injured late in the year.

The injustice received plenty of criticism at the time and the noise doesn't seem to be quieting down anytime soon, especially after Alabama's embarrassing offensive performance in its loss in the Rose Bowl. The team that the Seminoles were held out in favor of recorded less than 300 total yards and just 116 passing yards.

The frustration from some of Florida State's players bubbled over to social media in the aftermath of the Crimson Tide losing once again. Former star quarterback Jordan Travis was one of the Seminoles to briefly chime in.

It didn't take long for him to catch heat from an unlikely, and rather irrelevant, figure. That happened to be LSU long snapper Slade Roy, who replied to Travis with the score of Florida State's Orange Bowl loss to Georgia and the same emoji he used as a dig at the Seminoles. If it wasn't already obvious, that turned out to be a mistake.

Shortly after Roy threw shade at the team that handed him more Ls than you can fit into LSU over the last two seasons, Travis and the Seminoles fired back. Offensive lineman Darius Washington and former tight end Camren McDonald were some of those to call out the long snapper.

Florida State has dealt with plenty of criticism for its performance against Georgia in recent days but one team they aren't going to put up with any talk from is LSU. The Seminoles essentially dominated the Tigers for two consecutive years despite the narrative surrounding Brian Kelly coming to Baton Rouge and Jayden Daniels winning the Heisman.

The only reason the matchup was really even close in 2022 is because Florida State nearly fumbled a 17-3 down the stretch. That didn't happen at the beginning of this past season as the Seminoles stomped on LSU's throat en route to a 45-24 victory.

During his two games against the Tigers, Travis completed 43/64 passes for 602 yards with six touchdowns to one interception while rushing seven times for 69 yards and another score. Roy was on the field for 14 snaps and recorded no stats in those same contests.
