Report: Top Transfer Quarterback To Officially Visit Florida State This Weekend
Florida State is beginning to gain traction with multiple players in the NCAA Transfer Portal since the window opened last week. The Seminoles brought in two transfers for official visits over the weekend and that will continue throughout December.
On Tuesday afternoon, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Oregon State graduate transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is expected in Tallahassee this weekend for an official visit. Uiagalelei is one of the most coveted signal-callers in the portal but his future has remained uncertain as he's grappled with the decision of playing another year in college or declaring for the NFL Draft.
The quarterback dominos are beginning to fall after former Duke star Riley Leonard committed to Notre Dame on Tuesday. The Seminoles are believed to be a top contender for Uiagalelei's services and are keeping an eye on former Washington State standout Cam Ward as well.

Uiagalelei is a quarterback that Florida State is quite familiar with after facing him in 2021 and 2022. In those two games, Uiagalelei guided the Clemson Tigers to a pair of victories while totaling 392 passing yards, four touchdown passes, and one interception while completing 62.9% of his passes. He also rushed for one score.
The 6-foot-4, 251-pound signal-caller is coming off a season with Oregon State where he compiled a career-high 2,638 passing yards on 8.7 yards per attempt despite attempting fewer passes than in his two years as Clemson's starter. He tossed 21 touchdowns to seven interceptions while also scoring six times on the ground.
During his four years at the college level, Uiagalelei has completed 695/1176 passes (59.1%) for 8,319 yards with 57 touchdowns to 24 interceptions. He's also rushed 343 times for 1,132 yards and 21 more scores.
Uiagalelei fits into Florida State's timeline at quarterback as he has one year of eligibility remaining. He would presumably compete with rising redshirt senior Tate Rodemaker for the starting job with the Seminoles as rising redshirt freshman Brock Glenn and incoming true freshman Luke Kromenhoek continue to develop.
