Deion Sanders has been generating attention in the college football community, sparking controversy and criticism from various sides of the transfer portal debate. Since assuming the head coaching position at Colorado, he has overseen the largest roster overhaul in the NCAA Transfer Portal era, parting ways with over 75% of his original roster. Sanders is making a name for himself by bringing in talent that would otherwise be buried on other teams' depth charts.

Sanders has already landed former Florida State defensive end Derrick McClendon II and linebacker Brendan Gant, who both opted to transfer in the spring.

On Monday, he learned that he will add another former 'Nole to his secondary in defensive back Omarion Cooper.

The Colorado secondary will feature several blue-chip prospects as Sanders attempts to rebuild a Buffaloes team that finished 1-11 last season. Cooper joins JSU transfer Travis Hunter, Alabama transfer Jahquez Robinson, and Ole Miss cornerback Kyndrich Breedlove.

Cooper, a 4-star prospect out of Lehigh Acres, FL, ended his second season in Tallahassee with a season-high of four tackles in the week one showdown against the LSU Tigers to start the year. His one interception came against the Boston College Eagles. All in all, Cooper played in 20 games for the 'Noles with seven starts. He totaled 30 career tackles, 21 solo, with one forced fumble and three interceptions before entering the portal.

Florida State has seen players like wide receiver Mycah Pittman, defensive end Derrick McClendon II, defensive back Travis Jay, linebacker Brendan Gant, defensive tackle Antavious Woody, offensive lineman Zane Herring and linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. enter the NCAA Transfer Portal during the spring window which closed on April 30.
