WATCH: Trey Benson Gets Seminoles on the Board Against Florida

The Seminoles cut the deficit to one score against the Gators just ahead of halftime.

The Florida State Seminoles are facing their biggest test of the season, and it's all due to the fact of playing without Jordan Travis, who led them to the 11-0 record they held coming into this game.

With Tate Rodemaker under center, the Seminoles didn't have any big plays in the half -- a big change of pace from when Travis was on the field -- which led to no points through the first quarter and a half of play.

Down 12-0 following a stop, the Seminoles began a drive at their own ten-yard line. After ten plays, they found their way into scoring position with help from a 29-yard pass from Rodemaker to Jaheim Bell and a 14-yard pass from Rodemaker to Johnny Wilson.

Trey Benson eventually used his size to punch in a touchdown from the one-yard line to cut the deficit to 12-7 just before halftime.

With very little time on the clock, the Gators drove down the field and nearly scored, missing a 52-yard field goal.

While the matchup was destined to be close considering it being a nighttime rivalry matchup in The Swamp, the Seminoles take to halftime with some ground to gain after a slow offensive start.
