WATCH: Trey Benson Reels in Electric Touchdown Catch to Extend FSU's Lead
While the Wake Forest Demon Deacons were in striking distance to the Florida State Seminoles, the Seminoles offense woke up and put together a couple of good drives. First, Keon Coleman stiff-armed his way to the end zone, creating a 17-7 lead for the Seminoles.
After a later stop, it was time for the Seminoles to try and strike again. It didn't take long, as Trey Benson received a screen pass, which he took to the house on an electric play that displayed his speed.

For the Seminoles, a strong finish to the first half and building more and more separation will be huge. Though it doesn't matter this early, the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings will soon come out, and a blowout win to remain undefeated will only benefit the Seminoles.
Also, the offense is putting up a big first half. Jordan Travis has completed ten of his 17 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. The run game hasn't exactly been explosive yet, but the big passing plays might soon open up that avenue of offense.
Watching the offense play this well without either Johnny Wilson or Destyn Hill is impressive. The defense has also come alive, allowing just seven points with the first half winding down.
