Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel 'Disappointed' in Former FSU Star Jalen Ramsey's Return
Former Florida State standout and Super Bowl Champion Jalen Ramsey made his Dolphins debut on Sunday, and the All-Pro cornerback did not disappoint. Late in the second half, Ramsey intercepted Patriots quarterback Mac Jones and returned it for 49 yards, which helped set up a lead-extending field goal before halftime.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel jokingly said to the media afterward that he was disappointed in the performance and he was expecting a pick-six and not a picked field goal.

"He totally disappointed me. He called that he was going to come back and have a pick-six, not a picked-field goal," McDaniel said. "He did phenomenal. You want to talk about something that goes above and beyond? Like you can’t manufacture what he brought to our team in any other way.”
Ramsey was sidelined for the beginning of the 2023 season after suffering a torn meniscus and underwent surgery. Although he wasn't expected to return until December, his commitment to get on the field and help his team win never wavered.
"His play, but the commitment it took to play in that game everybody witnessed first hand," McDaniel said. "You want to talk about not letting somebody down as a teammate? That was a special thing to be a part of."
The Dolphins picked up Ramsey in an off-season trade with the L.A. Rams, and the excitement was quickly cut short early in training camp. Last season, he had 88 tackles, four interceptions, and two sacks.
Miami is set to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, November 5 at 9:30 a.m.
