Danzy is competing in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, and long jump at the 2023 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon. Wednesday afternoon, he left the competition in the dust during the prelims for the 200-meter dash, securing the top spot with a 21.16-second finish. The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday evening.
Danzy committed to the 'Noles earlier in July, choosing Florida State over schools like LSU, Florida, Miami, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Cincinnati. The local Tallahassee, Florida prospect will be an excellent complement to 2024 five-star FSU commit Kam Davis adding a one-two punch for the future.
The 6-foot-1, 170 athlete played a significant role in Florida High's state-runner-up season in 2022. He ended the season carrying the ball 191 times and for 1,809 yards on the ground, adding eight catches for 100 yards and a score through the air. Danzy also returned a punt for a score.
He is regarded as the No. 152 overall prospect, the No. 9 ATH, and the No. 22 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2024 class, per 247Sports.
