BREAKING: Four-Star Local RB Micahi Danzy Elects To Stay Home With The Seminoles
The first half of July has been one to remember for Florida State as the coaching staff has picked up a flurry of commitments.
On Saturday, the wave of good news continued as four-star running back Micahi Danzy announced that he was staying home with the Seminoles. The local product chose Florida State over an offer list that included Florida, LSU, Miami, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas, Cincinnati, and others.

Florida State was Danzy's public leader in his recruitment throughout the year as he made the short trek over to campus five times. That included a trip for his official visit during the final weekend of June.
The visits to FSU were his lone trips to a college program during a month that has become crucial in recruiting. In fact, his last visit to another program was to Miami in March.
The local proximity to home played in the Seminoles' favor but Danzy also had a different feeling about Florida State than other programs. He'll have the opportunity to star on the football field and track in Tallahassee.
"It's just I've been here so much and I've learned a lot," Danzy said to NoleGameday previously. "I feel like this will be the right place. When I come here I feel different compared to other schools."
The Seminoles have been searching for a running mate to add alongside longtime commitment Kam Davis in the 2024 class. Danzy has been the top option for quite some time due to his ability to complement what Davis brings to the table. Davis is more of a traditional running back while Danzy projects to fit into the tailback role in Florida State's offense.
The first thing that pops out about Danzy is his combination of elite speed and athleticism. His taller frame makes him a longer strider and allows him to get away from opposing defenders swiftly. Danzy has pretty good vision and typically hits the right hole and cutback lanes. He does a lot of his damage on the perimeter but is an improving runner between the tackles.
Danzy needs to continue building up his frame but he has the makings of an athlete that can work out of the backfield and in the slot at Florida State. He's looking forward to developing under the tutelage of running backs coach David Johnson.
"I feel good about Coach YAC because he understands high school kids," Danzy said. "During the games, he understands you get nervous but he'll calm down. So that's one thing I like about him."
As a junior, he played a large role in Florida High's state-runner-up season in 2022. Danzy rushed 191 times for 1,809 yards with nine touchdowns on the ground while catching eight passes for 100 yards and another score. He recorded a career-high 21 rushes for 224 yards and a score in the loss to Cocoa in the state championship game.
Danzy is also an elite athlete on the track who is the second fastest 18U 400m runner in the world. He owns personal bests of 10.61 seconds in the 100, 21.07 seconds in the 200, and 46.11 seconds in the 400.
With his pledge, Florida State's class ranks No. 10 in the country with 18 verbal commitments.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound running back is regarded as the No. 152 overall prospect, the No. 9 ATH, and the No. 21 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
