Florida State hosted its largest official visit weekend of the summer to conclude the recruiting period in June. 14 prospects were on campus over the last couple of days, including four-star wide receiver Elijah Moore.

Joined by his father and brother, Moore had a memorable time in Tallahassee as he spent more time around the coaching staff and met a couple of the players.

"I had a great time on my official visit," Moore said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis. "Coach Norvell, really felt like family. I loved the FSU football, I had a great time."

While Moore is from Maryland, the Seminoles have been involved since early in his recruitment. Head coach Mike Norvell and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans have earned his trust over the years.

"Florida State's been on me all four years of my high school career. They were my second offer in eighth grade and they've stuck with me," Moore said. "Coach Norvell, I trust him. I trust coach Dugans and it's like a family up there. I trust everybody.

The coaching staff made it clear that they can provide Moore with a home away from home. The family aspect of the program is something that has caught his attention.

"Definitely just going to take care of me," Moore said. "That's all I'm worried about - family outside of my home - and they definitely made that clear."

Moore was hosted by redshirt sophomore Joshua Burrell and got to meet some of the other wide receivers. He noticed how closely connected the team is.

"They're definitely tight. They stick together," Moore said. "I was with Josh [Burrell]. He definitely took care of me and everybody has each other back for sure."

Coming into the trip, Ohio State was the perceived favorite for Moore after hosting him for an official visit at the beginning of the month. His mind changed after 48 hours in Tallahassee.

"All I'm going to say is FSU is No. 1 right now," Moore said.

It won't be long until Moore goes public with a decision. He's planning to announce his commitment between the Seminoles and Buckeyes on July 4. Why did it come down to these two schools?

"It's just Ohio State/Florida State. I'm not a real picky guy, I'm cutthroat," Moore said. "Ohio State - Brian Hartline. Coach Ron Dugans. Let's make it happen."

Noting that he almost committed to Florida State on Saturday, Moore says that his mind is 'pretty made up' ahead of his announcement.

"I'll make some business calls," Moore said. "I think my mind is pretty made up. I'm going to try to get everything set up and then yeah, big event."

If he chooses the Seminoles, Moore understands that he's going to have to put in the work. That's not a problem for him.

"It's all about worth ethic and wanting to be successful," Moore said. "If you work, you're going to be successful. I feel like, if they want to give me the ball, they're going to give me the ball. If we want to win championships, we're going to win championships."

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver is regarded as the No. 431 overall prospect, the No. 63 WR, and the No. 11 recruit in the state of Maryland in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
