Top Blue-Chip Safety Target Includes FSU Football In Top Ten List
Florida State is putting itself in position for another top high school recruiting class. Following a 13-1* campaign that included the program's first ACC Championship since 2014 and wins over LSU, Clemson, Miami, Florida, and Louisville, recruits around the country are buzzing over what the Seminoles have to offer on and off the field.
On Friday, four-star safety JaDon Blair announced his top ten to begin the month of March. FSU made the cut for the blue-chip prospect alongside Michigan, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Wake Forest, Miami, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Maryland, and Penn State.

This is a notable development because Blair hasn't yet returned to Tallahassee in 2024. In the meantime, he's visited Wake Forest and Penn State while setting up official visits to Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Michigan, and the Nittany Lions. Blair's last trip to Florida State was in November and it'll be imperative for the coaching staff to get him back in town soon.
Blair was able to watch the Seminoles take down Miami in Doak Campbell Stadium during his last visit. He's been building a connection with defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. throughout the process.
"It's been good. Coach Surtain, he went through the process, he knows what it's like so he's not the type of guy to call your phone every night, text you every day but he will make it known how he wants you," Blair said to NoleGameday previously. "That's by the little things that he do, like he'll send me stuff about how they want me here, how I'm doing, and stuff. I can call him, he can call me, just getting the little talks and conversations, everything's been real good with him."
The North Carolina native said after his previous trip that he plans to take an official visit to Florida State. The Seminoles have a chance to generate momentum in this recruitment if they push.
"Now that I've been up here and got to experience it in person, they definitely rose in my eyes," Blair said. "Like I always had them as a top team for me but now they're really up there just getting to see it in person, getting to talk to the coaches. They kept it real with me today and that's what I love. I don't want it to be something else then why I get there for it to change so getting to experience it now was really huge and a big deal for me."
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound defensive back is regarded as the No. 155 overall prospect, the No. 13 S, and the No. 5 recruit in the state of North Carolina in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
