First up on the docket is four-star defensive end DD Holmes, who was in Tallahassee last weekend for an official visit. After getting the final impression, can the Seminoles win out over Maryland, South Carolina, and Rutgers?
The Washington, D.C., native picked up the second offer in his recruitment from Florida State in June of 2022. His official visit was his second trip to campus this year as Holmes also stopped by in April. Outside of the Seminoles, he viewed the Terrapins, Gamecocks, and Scarlet Knights in June.
"I had a great time," Holmes said regarding his official visit to Florida State. "Just spending time with the coaches and the current players, recruits and a couple commits, it was a great time meeting with them and spending 48 hours with them."
The Seminoles are still looking to add their first edge rusher in the 2024 class. The class holds 11 verbal commitments and is ranked No. 26 in the country.
The 6-foot-6, 250-pound defensive lineman is regarded as the No. 274 overall prospect, the No. 32 DL, and the No. 2 recruit in D.C. in the 2024 class according to 247Sports. As a junior, he recorded 37 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and two forced fumbles.
