The No. 1 recruit in the country is gearing up to sign his Letter of Intent on Wednesday. After a thrilling recruiting process, five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith will make things official with a program during the Early Signing Period. He's committed to Ohio State but programs such as Florida State and Miami are still vying to keep him in the Sunshine State.

The Buckeyes have held his pledge since December of last year and he has a strong relationship with wide receivers coach Brian Hartline. The Hurricanes are the hometown team making a push for a South Florida recruit. The Seminoles have impressed Smith with their coaching staff and the development of the program over the past couple of years.

Smith was in Tallahassee for an official visit last weekend - the final trip of his recruitment. Can Mike Norvell and Florida State pull off a surprise during the Early Signing Period?

The 6-foot-3, 198-pound wide receiver is regarded as the No. 1 overall prospect, the No. 1 S, and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.

As a senior, Smith starred for one of the top high school teams in the country and helped guide Chaminade-Madonna to another state title. He caught 90 passes for 1,389 yards with 19 touchdowns during his senior season
