Georgia Corner Decides to Enter the Portal After Saying He Was Coming Back
Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey has reported announced that he will be entering the NCAA Transfer portal.
Humphrey, along with Daniel Harris received were talks that they might elect to hit the portal, as there are with many players during this time of year, but after this tweet from him, the same tweet that Harris made after the bowl game, it seemed like he will be staying in Athens.
Turns out he is indeed leaving. Humphrey battled sophomore corner Daylen Everette for the right to start alongside potential first-rounder Kamari Lassiter this season. Ultimatley it was Everette who won that starting job, leaving Humphrey on the sideline for the majority of the season. Additionally, Humphrey suffered a shoulder injury against Ole Miss, which hampered his playing time the remainder of the season.
Humphrey was a key contributor for the Bulldogs on defense this season as he played meaningful snaps throughout the season as a cornerback. He will have at least two years remaining of eligibility at his next school. His recruitment was heavily contested coming out of high school as a top-100 rated defensive back.
