Georgia EDGE Rusher Darris Smith Expected to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Reports surfaced Tuesday afternoon that EDGE rusher Darris Smith is set to enter the transfer portal when it opens.

The No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs aren't used to seeing expected portal activity this early in the process. The official portal window hasn't even begun, they are in the midst of SEC Championship Game preps and in the middle of a CFP Playoff application process.

Yet, reports surfaced Tuesday afternoon that EDGE rusher Darris Smith is set to enter the transfer portal when it opens per On3.com.

The former SI99 Member and Top100 player missed extensive time this season with what Kirby Smart called "personal things" and stated that though he was "still with the team" he was "focusing on school" when he was last asked about Darris Smith participation this season.

Smith was a former four-star recruit out of Appling County High School in South Georgia. He will have multiple years of eligibility remaining.
