Kirby Smart Provides an Update on Amarius Mims Injury

Head coach Kirby Smart met with the media on Friday prior to their matchup with Florida State in the Capital One Orange Bowl and updated the injury status of Amarius Mims.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart met with the media on Friday prior to their matchup with Florida State in the Capital One Orange Bowl. He was asked about multiple injury updates including one on starting right tackle Amarius Mims. 

Mims suffered a high-ankle sprain against South Carolina midway through the season and underwent tightrope surgery. Miims exited the SEC Championship Game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. He has made the trip to South Florida for the Orange Bowl after having missed the team plane on the way down originally. 

"He's going to be with us today," said Smart when asked about an update on the star offensive tackle. Mims is projected to be a first-round draft pick this spring if he so chooses to declare for the NFL Draft.
