PHOTOS: Georgia Throttles FSU in the Orange Bowl
It was a smattering of the Florida State Seminoles in the Capital One Orange Bowl at the hands of the now (13-1) Georgia Bulldogs, who dominated 63 to 3 in this contest. Florida State summoned two drives past the fifty-yard line offensively, they had 26 total yards in the second half of the football game, and they gained 673 yards of total offense playing the backups the entire second half and didn't punt until the fourth quarter.
It was a bowl-game record-breaking performance for the Bulldogs and we have all the sights and sounds from the contest here.
The Bulldogs finished with a season-high and Bulldog bowl record 673 yards of total offense (4th most overall in school history) on 76 plays in a record 63-3 victory in front of 63,324. Coming in today, Georgia ranked ninth nationally in Scoring Offense at 38.4 points a game. Georgia’s 372 rushing yards was a Bulldog bowl record too.
Junior QB Carson Beck was 13-for-19 for 203 yards and 2 TDs in directing Georgia to a 42-3 halftime lead. With 203 yards, Beck moved up to 2nd in single season history for passing yards with 3,941 yards, passing Aaron Murray (3,893 in 2012). Beck is 5-1 against Top 25 opponents.
*Sophomores Dillon Bell (5 rec., 86 yards) was the leading receiver. Georgia got TD catches from juniors Arian Smith, Dominic Lovett, Lawson Luckie and Anthony Evans.
