Kirby Smart Comments on The Retirement of Nick Saban
The college football world got stirred up Wednesday afternoon as legendary head football coach Nick Saban announced that he would be retiring from the sport. In the wake of Saban's retirement, Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart spoke to Atlanta radio station 92.9 The Game to share how the legendary head coach influenced his career.
"I have a lot of respect for him as a coach, as a person, and as a man. What he and Mrs. Terry have meant to, really the game of football. But especially to Tuscaloosa, they've been incredible. He's put a lot of coaches through his coaching factory, I can assure you of that."

Smart knows a thing or two about Saban's "coaching factory" as he served as the Alabama defensive coordinator for Saban for a multitude of seasons and helped the team win 4 national titles. The duo would part ways ahead of the 2016 season following Smart's hire as the Bulldogs' head coach.
With Saban now no longer an active coach in the SEC. Smart because the second-longest active coach in the SEC behind only Kentucky's Mark Stoops.
