Kirby Smart's rapid success as Georgia's head coach has been stunning. Yes, many pointed to Georgia as a sleeping giant before Smart took over, but the efficiency at which he's won has been nothing short of elite.

He broke Nick Saban's SEC record for wins through 100 games when Georgia beat UAB last season. The win gave Smart 85 wins in his first 100 games, passing Saban's 84, and topping many other SEC legends like Tennessee's Phillip Fulmer (83), Florida's Steve Spurrier (83), and Alabama's Bear Bryant (81). Entering 2024, he has a record of 94-16, sitting just six wins shy of 100.

So when and where could Smart reach the century mark? The likeliest guesses are either home against Mississippi State in Week 7 or the following week on the road at Texas. A trip to Tuscaloosa in Week 5 would be the deciding factor there.

Georgia Bulldogs 2024 Football Schedule

  • Aug. 31 - vs Clemson (Atlanta, Ga.)
  • Sept. 7 - vs Tennessee Tech
  • Sept. 14 - @ Kentucky
  • Sept. 21 - BYE
  • Sept. 28 @ Alabama
  • Oct. 5 - vs Auburn
  • Oct. 12 - vs Mississippi State
  • Oct. 19 - @ Texas
  • Oct. 26 - BYE
  • Nov. 2 - vs Florida (Jacksonville, Fl.)
  • Nov. 9 - @ Ole Miss
  • Nov. 16 - vs Tennessee
  • Nov. 23 vs UMass
  • Nov. 30 vs Georgia Tech

Obviously, Georgia fans would prefer to be celebrating win No. 100 against Mississippi State in Sanford Stadium, but Georgia would have to take care of business against teams like Clemson, Kentucky, and Alabama to do so. If Georgia should fall to Alabama and Texas, Smart could reach the milestone in a very fitting fashion against Florida in Jacksonville.
