April Fools Prank Dupes Some UGA Fans Into Thinking Kirby Smart has Been "Suspended"

Rumors of a suspension about Georgia head coach Kirby Smart began circling around this weekend. However, the report was simply an April Fool's prank.

April 1st, or as some like to call it April Fool's day is a pseudo-holiday where people pull harmless pranks on each other throughout the day. However, with the rise of the internet and online reporting, pranking people has become much more widespread. So much so, that numerous Bulldog fans fell victim to a prank regarding Kirby Smart.

Multiple social media accounts on Twitter and other social media reported that Kirby Smart had been charged with multiple "level 1" recruiting violations and would be suspended indefinitely.

While many Bulldog fans were privy to what day it was and did not take the bait, there were still a handful who fell for what would be one of many "April Fools" in the sporting world.

This is not the first time in which Bulldog fans have fallen victim to an April Fool's joke. Last year, it was the official Georgia Football Twitter account pranking fans with a picture of the College Football Playoff trophy that appeared to have been broken.

While the "news" may have caused a scare for many Dawgnation can be rest assured, Kirby Smart and the Georgia program have not been charged with any violations and BOTH of Georgia's national title trophies are safe and sound.
