Arian Smith Talks Facing Adversity and Overcoming Injuries
Over the past few years, the Georgia Bulldogs have been a part of some incredible moments in college football history. And while wide receiver Arian Smith has been involved in a handful of those moments, he hopes to be involved in more come the 2023 season.
Smith, a speedster receiver from Bradley, Florida has unfortunately had to battle through a handful of injuries during his time at the University of Georgia. Injuries which have greatly diminished his on-field opportunities. However, rather than lamenting on the time missed, the receiver is focused on staying hungry and ready for the 2023 season.
"It's been rough obviously when I was hurt. But now, I try to not focus on things like that 'cause the only person it really matters to is myself and what I think."
- Arian Smith
When on the field, Smith's impact on the Bulldog's offense was unlike any other. His 28.3 yards-per-catch during the 2023 season was the highest out of any Bulldogs receiver by over 10 yards and his touchdown reception in Georgia's come-from-behind win against Ohio State in the Peach Bowl arguably saved the Bulldog's season.
Smith also spoke on his choice to step away from the Bulldogs' track team last season and how it has lightened the workload on his body significantly. He even mentioned that he feels much better physically than he did this time a year ago.
