In this story:

In early July, Georgia's football program was running hot on the recruiting trail as it seemed they were landing any recruit that had an interest in coming to Athens. Now towards the later part of the month, things have seemed to cool down for Georgia, so who could be the next commitment for the Bulldogs?

While it always seemed like Tennessee was the leading favorite, five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews was the latest loss on the trail for Georgia. Losing an in-state player of Matthews' caliber is never an easy pill to swallow, but especially not when they choose to go to a rival program like Tennessee. Georgia was always in the mix to land Matthews, but it seemed to be a case of pushing all of their chips in just a little too late to land the highly touted receiver.

The good news for Georgia fans though is that there are several Georgia targets that are set to make an announcement soon that could get the Bulldogs rolling in the right direction again. Five-star linebacker Justin Williams announced earlier this week that he will be announcing his school of choice on July 24th. The Bulldogs have a great reputation when it comes to recruiting the linebacker position thanks to Glenn Schumann, and they remain in good standing to land Williams when his decision rolls around.

Another linebacker in the 2024 class is also expected to pop soon as Kristopher Jones looks to be narrowing down his decision. Jones' most recent official visit came on June 16th when he took a visit to the University of Georgia, and the Bulldogs have remained in a strong position to add Jones to their loaded 2024 recruiting class.

Five-star safety KJ Bolden is also set to come off of the board on August 5th. He is a teammate of current Georgia commit, Dylan Raiola after the five-star quarterback decided to move to the state of Georgia and enroll to play football at Buford high school. Adding Bolden to this year's class would be a massive boost for the Bulldogs, and they appear to be in a solid position to do so.

Defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri is also expected to make a commitment announcement at the beginning of August. Nwaneri is not only considered to be the top defensive lineman in the country but one of the best players in the entire country. Georgia is in the mix to land the star studded player and would only further verify the Bulldogs having the best class this cycle.

Georgia currently has 25 players committed to their next recruiting class after safety Jalen Heyward made the decision to decommit from the Bulldogs. The staff is now looking to put the finishing touches on this year's class and there are still some very talented names left on the board for Georgia to potentially land.
