Cooper Kupp Makes Playful Joke About Matthew Stafford and Stetson Bennett
Since being selected by the Rams in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, quarterback Stetson Bennett has garnered a handful of praises from his new coaches and teammates. But his most recent compliment may be the most humorous one yet.
Earlier this week, Rams wide receiver and Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp spoke about Bennett and shared his thoughts on the rookie quarterback.
“He’s made some really big-time throws and is seeing the field well. Also, he can move. He’s a pretty athletic dude, so I think he’s definitely the most athletic quarterback from Georgia that we got on our team.”
-Cooper Kupp
Kupp’s comment is, of course, a shot at the Ram’s other quarterback Matthew Stafford who played for the Bulldogs from 2006-08. Stafford, a 35-year-old veteran has never been renowned for his “dual-threat” abilities at the quarterback position but rather his impressive arm strength and decision-making abilities. He was selected as the first overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft.
Bennett will likely be learning under the veteran quarterback as the backup for the Rams during the 2023 regular season.
