Brian Herrien Talks About His Love for Stetson Bennett
While the Georgia football program is currently focused on finding their next starting quarterback for the 2023 season, the former starter, Stetson Bennett, continues to hold an impact on the program. Many are eager to see how the former Bulldog legend will perform in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, and one of Bennett's former teammates spoke very confidently about how Bennett will do at the professional level.
Former Georgia running back Brian Herrien was teammates with Bennett during his time in Athens from 2016-2019. While the two never saw much of the field on Saturdays together, Herrien still had a lot of great things to say about Bennett and the type of teammate that he is. 11 Alive's, Maria Martin, sat down with the Georgia running back to discuss Bennett and it all but confirms how loved number 13 was from start to finish.
Players around the Georgia football program have always expressed a lot of gratitude and love toward Bennett's way. Specifically about how he went about his business and how he treated his teammates, which is what Herrien talks about in this interview. Herrien's testimony about Bennett goes to show that prior to the quarterback's collegiate success, he was always a notable player in the locker room.
Bennett's career now pivots to playing alongside another former Bulldog in Los Angeles with the Rams and Matthew Stafford. The NFL organization used a fourth-round pick to select the former Heisman finalist to help add depth to their quarterback room.
Regardless of where Bennett's professional career takes him or ends up, one thing that is for certain is that he will always be able to hang his hat on being a great leader while dressed in the red and black. Something that can never be tarnished and will always be commended by his peers.
