Cornerback Smoke Bouie no Longer With Team
As SEC Media Days continue, some news regarding the Georgia roster has broken as cornerback Smoke Bouie is reportedly no longer with the team. Bouie was a former 4-star cornerback in the 2022 recruiting class.
At one point during his recruitment, Bouie was verbally committed to the Bulldogs and remained committed for eight months. He then de-committed from Georgia and reopened his recruitment several months before early national signing day. He would join Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies before entering the transfer portal at the end of the 2022 season.
While the news of Bouie's departure is still fresh, head coach Kirby Smart indicated that Bouie and the Bulldogs had parted ways a while ago. A reason for his departure was not given.
"Smoke is no longer with our team. It's been that way for a while. It was mutually agreed to part ways and we wish him nothing but the best."
-Kirby Smart
Without Bouie, the Bulldogs will have to turn to other players on the roster to bolster depth at their corner position.
