WATCH: Kirby Smart Speaks at SEC Media Days

SEC Media Days are continuing on this Tuesday. This time Kirby Smart is at the podium.

Dawgs Daily is here in Nashville, Tennessee, for this week's slate of SEC Media Days. Coaches and players from all 14 teams in the conference will be taking the podium to speak about the upcoming season and to provide a glimpse of what this year has in store for their program prior to the 2023 college football season being kicked off.

For the second day of media days, the media will be hearing from the head coaches and players from Georgia, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Vanderbilt. For the Bulldogs, Sedrick Van Pran, Kamari Lassiter, and Brock Bowers made the trip with head coach Kirby Smart.

Smart opened the conference with a ten-minute speaking period and spoke about his time off, the off-season, and being a leader.

"Anyone can tell you the benefits of great leadership. Anyone can tell you what it looks like; they can tell you what it can do for you; there are a ton of books written on great leadership. But what you won't see is people talking about the costs associated with leadership. If you truly want to be honest about leadership, you can't ignore the costs. Great leaders are willing to accept those costs.

"Three of the costs that are plastered on my desk - Number one, you will have to make hard decisions that negatively affect people you care about, number two you will be disliked despite your attempt to do the best with the most, number three you will be misunderstood and always have the o[opportunity to defend yourself. These three costs are exactly what the three players we bought from UGA  represent. They don't fear those costs, that's the reason we decided to bring them  they accept and embrace those costs."

"Better never rest." That's the 2023 mantra Smart introduced during his presser. His Dawgs will be rolling with this mantra into the season. They don't want complacency or "outside forces" to control their season.

Brock Bowers, Kamari Lassiter, and Sedrick Van Pran will follow Kirby Smart's presser. Mississippi State and Auburn will follow Georgia.
