Georgia Loses a Commit, Who's Up Next for the Bulldogs

Georgia just lost a running back in the class of 2024 in the form of Tovani Mizell, what's next ?

4-star running back from Dematha Catholic Tovani Mizell has backed off his commitment to the dawgs. Mizell had been committed to the Bulldogs since early August of 2022.

Now everyone knows that Kirby Rarely, if ever, gets in a situation in recruiting where there isn’t a plan moving forward, so who are some possible prospects that Georgia could look to replace Mizell with?

Georgia already has one running back commit in Dwight Phillips Jr., the 4-star speedster from Pebblebrook, Georgia. We also know Georgia usually takes two running backs.

The first Prospect Georgia could look to fill that role is in-state 5-star Florida state commit Kameron Davis. The two-sport star has been on Georgia’s radar for a while, and Georgia has been in fast pursuit even with Davis remaining committed to the Seminoles. Davis has some interesting tape, to say the least; he plays Quarterback for Dougherty high school in Georgia but at 5-10 200 pounds projects as a running back at the next level. Davis is also looking to play baseball at the next level.

Another prospect Georgia seems interested in is Stacey Gage, the 4-star back from Florida. Georgia has been recruiting Gage for a while; they offered him back in 2021, and Georgia has continued a strong relationship with Gage. Gage is now playing for St. Thomas Aquinas, which has had success over the past couple of classes. Gage is well put together back at 5-11 200. He can do a lot of different things. He has the speed to run by people and build to run through people as well.

Georgia is known for always finding underrated prospects and succeeding at the next level. One such name could be Kevin Riley from North port Alabama. Riley is rated as a 3-star Running back but holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, & LSU. Explosive is one word that comes to mind when you watch Riley play, and you can tell why all the big boys are after him. This recruitment will be challenging for the Dawgs, with Riley in Alabama’s backyard, so we will see how this recruitment develops.

Overall Georgia and Dell McGee Always do well recruiting running backs, so the question is not if. The question is, who?
