Georgia Athletic Director Josh Brooks Receives Extension an Raise From University
The past few years for the University of Georgia's athletic department have been wonderfully successful. The Bulldog's football team has won back-to-back national titles, the softball team is currently playing in the NCAA Super Regional Tournament, and 17 of the other 19 teams made their respective postseasons.
The overwhelming successes have led to an extension of the University's athletic director Josh Brooks. Brooks was named director of athletics in January 2021 after serving in supporting roles for the University for 11 years prior.
While athletics have flourished under Brooks, academics and community service have also been a strength. During the Winter of 2022, the Bulldogs had a total of 97 players named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Multiple teams have also received a handful of community service honors as well.
Brooks' extension will secure his place as Georgia's athletic director for another six years and yield a raise of $1.025 million. With this extension, it is likely that Bulldog Athletics will continue to succeed in all facets of college sports in the coming years.
