Georgia Baseball Defeats LSU 9-5 Earns SEC Tournament Bid
The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the No.5 LSU Tigers this afternoon by a score of 9-5. The victory was the Bulldogs' 29th total of the season and was the 11th conference victory as they finished with a record of 29-26 and secured a spot in the SEC Tournament.
The Bulldogs victory over the Tigers helped them close out the regular season on a positive note after losing five straight games. The Dawgs overcame an early two-run deficit and were able to take a 3-2 lead after the third inning. A Charlie Condon home run in the fourth inning extended the Dawgs' lead to four. His home run was his 25th of the season which is the most by a Bulldog since Rich Poythress hit 25 during the 2009 season.
Senior Nolan Crisp took over in the ninth inning to earn the final out for the Bulldogs and lock in their spot in the conference tournament. His save was the second of the season and helped the Bulldogs punch their ticket to Hoover, Al. They will likely play the fifth-seed South Carolina Gamecocks.
