WATCH: Kamari Lassiter Talks About His Why, Leading His Teammates
Dawgs Daily is here in Nashville, Tennessee, for this week's slate of SEC Media Days. Coaches and players from all 14 teams in the conference will be taking the podium to speak about the upcoming season and to provide a glimpse of what this year has in store for their program prior to the 2023 college football season being kicked off.
For the second day of media days, the media will be hearing from the head coaches and players from Georgia, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Vanderbilt. Defensive back Kamari Lassiter was one of three players that Kirby Smart brought with him to SEC Media Day and we had the opportunity to talk to him.
The veteran Georgia cornerback discussed the advice he has given his teammates that are in the midst of a position battle for the other cornerback spot like he was earlier in his career. He also discussed his "why" and what keeps him motivated on a daily basis and highlights one of his favorite moments as a Bulldog up to this point.
After his freshman season in 2021, Lassiter would go on to win the offseason position battle the following season and become the other cornerback alongside his former teammate Kelee Ringo. As a sophomore, Lassiter racked up 38 tackles and five tackles for loss. Now with the new season approaching, he is labeled as one of the headliners of Georgia's defense and will play a crucial role as both a leader and as the team's number-one cornerback on the depth chart.
