Texas to Host Georgia in 2024 Season

The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to play at Texas in the 2024 college football season.

Throughout this offseason, a major talking point has been what the schedules are going to look like for SEC teams during the 2024 year, with the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns joining the conference after this season. More news has now come out that Georgia is expected to play at Texas in the 2024 season, according to Chip Brown at Horns247.

A decision was made a few weeks ago that the conference would be moving to play an eight-game conference schedule as opposed to the other alternative, which was nine games. Now Georgia is gaining more knowledge as to who they will play next season as they already know they will play the Florida Gators and most likely the Auburn Tigers as well.

This will be the second time that head coach Kirby Smart will have faced Texas as they played one another in the 2019 Sugar Bowl when the Longhorns defeated Georgia 28-21. The two teams have met a total of five times in history, and Texas has won four of the five matchups.

Another thing that will be interesting about this matchup is there is a good chance that former five-star recruit Arch Manning will be the starting quarterback next season for the Longhorns. Georgia was heavily in the mix to land Manning during his recruitment last year, but he ultimately decided to head to Texas and play for Steve Sarkisian. With current starter Quinn Ewers looking to be headed to the NFL after this season, Manning will be the heavy favorite to earn the starting role in 2024.

There are still some unknowns in regard to Georgia's 2024 schedule but with the Longhorns expected to be on the schedule, it is safe to say that the Bulldogs will not be lacking any big-time matchups next season, especially since they will be traveling out to Texas for that matchup.
