Georgia Bulldogs Banged Up Entering Bye Week

The Georgia football program has officially entered the bye week, and at a good time because the team is dealing with some injuries after Vanderbilt.
In this story:

The Georgia Bulldogs picked up their seventh straight win of the season against Vanderbilt last Saturday. It is the program's 24th straight win overall, and they continue to sit at the top of the weekly rankings. Head coach Kirby Smart and his football team will have some tough opponents to get through in the second part of the season, but first, they will need to use the bye week as time to get healthy.

One of the biggest stories of the weekend was star tight end Brock Bowers having to leave the game in the second quarter due to an ankle injury. The Bulldogs also had a couple of other starters suffer injuries against the Commodores, compacted with other injuries that the team was already dealing with prior to the game.

So, as Georgia enters the bye week, here is what the injury report looks like for the top-ranked Bulldogs:

Georgia Football Injury Report- 10/15

  • TE Brock Bowers (Ankle) - After the game, Smart reported that the X-rays were negative and that it initially looked like a low ankle sprain, but they won't know more information until later.
  • OT Xavier Truss (Ankle) - Truss did not reenter the game against Vanderbilt after his injury.
  • RB Kendall Milton (Knee) -  Milton returned to action last week against Kentucky and played again against Vanderbilt, but he took a hit to the knee, which aggravated his MCL. Smart said Milton felt it tighten back up, and they decided he shouldn't play in the second half against Vanderbilt.
  • OT Amarius Mims (Ankle) - Mims remains out after undergoing tightrope surgery in September for a high ankle sprain.
  • DE Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (Foot) - Ingram-Dawkins is still nursing a lingering foot injury that dates back to the preseason. Smart has indicated that he will be re-evlauted in the coming weeks.
  • RB Roderick Robinson (Ankle) - The freshman tailback has been out of action since suffering a high ankle sprain in Georgia’s week 3 game against South Carolina.
  • RB Branson Robinson (Knee) - Robinson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after a preseason knee injury.
