Head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are riding into the 2023 season coming off of back-to-back national titles, and their run of success is not expected to slow down during the upcoming season. With less than a month to go before the season kicks off, the preseason predictions are rolling in, and the media is still riding high on the Bulldogs.

CBS recently released their predictions for who they think the final four teams will be in the college football playoff and who they predict to just miss out on the playoffs. The Bulldogs were tabbed as the number one seed with a first-round matchup against Ohio State, who is the fourth seed, and Michigan and Alabama duking it out on the other side of the bracket in the first round, with the Wolverines being the number two seed.

If CBS's predictions hold true, Georgia and Ohio State would be set for a rematch of the ages. The Bulldogs got the best of the Buckeyes during last year's playoffs as Georgia came storming back during the second half to knock off head coach Ryan Day and his team. As for the two teams CBS predicted to have just missed the playoffs, LSU came in at the fifth spot, and the Texas Longhorns right behind them.

It's also worth noting that CBS had LSU as the only other SEC program to make an NY6 bowl game, which leaves out the Tennessee Volunteers, a team many are expecting to challenge Georgia for the eastern division title this season.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise for Georgia to be projected as the top seed for this year's college football playoff, as they have a favorable schedule and a litany of returning starters on both sides of the football to help make another national title run. The only question that truly remains for coach Smart and his program is how the quarterback play shapes out, but even with that lingering question, the Bulldogs still remain the favorite to make history and win three titles in a row.
