As many UGA fans know, Ladd McConkey could have declared for the NFL Draft early but stated that "I feel like I had more to prove" as the reason for him taking his extra year of eligibility.

When asked about new OC Mike Bobo McConkey feels  "he did a lot for us last year. I'm super excited that he's here and taking over. I feel like we can be better than ever." McConkey stated, "I'm sure there will be a twist on things. Anytime a new OC comes in, he'll want to do his things," but he believes that Todd Monken's offense will "translate" into Bobo's offense as well.

Regarding the Jan. 15 crash, McConkey made it clear that Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy are still a part of the Bulldogs program. "That was our family," McConkey stated, "and to see something happen like that, it's never easy, it's still not easy, and we are just trying to everything we can to honor them and represent them the right way."

McConkey had this to say about the QB battle this spring; "Obviously [Carson], Brock, and Gunner, a lot of them can feed off that. They can bring things that Stet might not have had to the table." Also adding, "Those guys came in and wanted to work. All three of them were here in the bowl practices. They were ready to get after it."

He also has new position players around him, like Dominic Lovett, RaRa Thomas, and a new QB. "Those guys came in and immediately learned the playbook," McConkey mentioned about Lovett and Thomas, "Those are two hard-working guys." He added that he was "excited and ready to play with those guys."

McConkey and the Bulldogs will continue to work in spring practices, leading up to their annual G-Day, which will be held on April 15 in Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA, and aired on ESPN2.
