Three Things We Want to See from Georgia vs Vanderbilt
Georgia has rolled into week seven of college football as a massive favorite over the Vanderbilt Commodores in a less-than-anticipated matchup. The Bulldogs and head coach Kirby Smart have a tendency to drum up Vanderbilt and put the game away early in the football game. However, that doesn't mean that there still aren't things to look for and watch on Saturday, so here are three things that we want to see on Saturday from Georgia.
Keep the Standard
Prior to Georgia's game against Kentucky, the Bulldogs, specifically the offense, were ridiculed for their slow starts. That was far from the case against the Wildcats, though, as Georgia scored 34 points in the first half and 14 in the first quarter alone. The offense got things rolling early in the football game and ended up scoring over 50 points and having over 600 yards of total offense alongside a defensive performance that Georgia fans are used to seeing.
What Georgia showcased against Kentucky is what many have been waiting to see from the Bulldogs. A completely dominant performance for all four quarters. That is the standard that has been set in Athens, and the continuation of that would be a promising sight on Saturday.
Dominance Upfront
Despite Georgia not looking like the true perfect team five weeks into the season, one of the few complaints that many had about the team was inconsistencies on the offensive line and lack of big-time plays from the defensive line. However, those were not issues against Kentucky. The Bulldogs played their best game collectively to date, and the defensive line was creating havoc in the backfield. Two things that Georgia has gotten accustomed to doing every single week over the years.
While Vanderbilt may not have the talent on either lines of scrimmage to garner a true eye test for Georgia's offensive and defensive lines, seeing them dominate a lesser opponent for four quarters would help instill further consistency.
Keep Feeding Brock Bowers
Surely all Georgia fans can get behind this one, right? Over the last two weeks, great things have happened when tight end Brock Bowers has gotten the football. The third-year Bulldog has helped create a spark in this offense, and quarterback Carson Beck certainly has a lot of confidence when throwing the ball to him. With the season already halfway over, that also means that Georgia only gets Bowers for another half of a season, so might as well make it count by continuing to get him touches.
