Georgia Punter Brett Thorson Takes Playful Jab at Stetson Bennett
The Georgia Bulldogs reported for fall camp earlier this week. This means that the 2023 college football season is right around the corner.
As an annual tradition of spring camp, a handful of Bulldogs pose for “first day of school” themed pictures where players sit at a desk and hold a sign that introduces them. The sign includes the players' number, who their coach was, where they are from, and who their friends are.
While a lot of Bulldogs stated that their friends were either their position groups or fellow teammates. Australian native and Punter, Brett Thorson decided to take a playful jab at former quarterback Stetson Bennett.
The “rivalry” between Bennett and Thorson first began all the way back in week one of the 2022 season when Bennett and the Bulldog offense lit up the Oregon Ducks for a total of 49 points. Unfortunately for Thorson, the offense’s success took away from his opportunity to showcase his punting skills, which caused him to tweet this following the game.
Fortunately for Thorson, Bennett no longer plays for the Bulldogs as he is now in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams. However, with the level of talent on Georgia’s offense for the 2023 season, The Georgia punter may not be a huge fan of whoever the Bulldogs’ next quarterback is either.
