How Missouri's Victory Over South Carolina Affects Georgia

While the Dawgs were on a bye week, the Missouri Tigers defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks. Here is how the game affects Georgia moving forward.

Because of the bye week, Georgia fans did not have the opportunity to watch their Bulldogs play this Saturday. However, plenty of massive games were still taking place around the SEC, including Missouri's matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The Tigers soundly defeated South Carolina by a score of 34-12. With the win, the Tigers improved to a 7-1 record on the season and a 3-1 overall record in the SEC. The Tigers' victory also creates a higher-stakes matchup for when the Bulldogs face Missouri later in the season as the game will likely be consequential as to who wins the East and appears in the 2023 SEC Championship. Georgia is currently 7-0 and is looking to win the Eastern division for the sixth time in seven years.

The Bulldogs are set to host the Tigers on Saturday, Nov. 4th in Athens. It will be their second to last home game of the 2023 regular season.
