G-Day is essential for Smart and his staff because it gives them a lasting impression of their team heading into the summer. Also, it gives the players one last chance to prove their development and leave their mark heading into the 2023 season. With many positions to be filled heading into the 2023 season, this G-Day will be fun to watch.

Who's Going To Flash?

A year ago, ironically enough it was tight end Arik Gilbert that took over G-Day's limelight and showed glimpses of what could have been for the Bulldogs. Gilbert had just a couple of catches but had Georgia fans gleaming at the potential of the former highest-ever rated tight end recruit. Those two catches in the G-day scrimmage matched his 2022 season total.

So, entering this year's version of the intrasquad scrimmage, who will be the player that steals the show? Will it be one of the quarterbacks vying for the starting job? Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, and Gunner Stockton are all capable and if there's anything that Georgia fans love to take an entrenched position on, it's the quarterback room. The spring game is oftentimes the only true opportunity for the world to see the entirety of the quarterback room, not just the starter come this fall. A few electric and explosive plays will have you being the fan-favorite to win the job this fall, a few careless decisions, and... well... not so much.

There's still a tackle spot up for grabs as well, with Austin Blaske and Earnest Greene battling it out at left tackle entering the final two-week stretch of spring ball. Additionally, Georgia fans will get their first look at transfer wide receivers RaRa Thomas and Dominic Lovett.

Defensively, there's a corner battle up for grabs, a defensive line rotation that's seeking clarity, a linebacker rotation that might be deeper than ever, and a defensive back field that's anything but settled in terms of roles and starters part from Kamari Lassiter, Javon Bullard, and Malaki Starks.
